Though you’re probably tired of hearing this by now, 2019 is shaping up to be a BIG year for housing policy. During the 2018 general session, the state legislature created the Commission on Housing Affordability to study strategies that mitigate the rising costs of housing. A draft was presented to the Economic Development and Workforce Services Interim Committee on November 14th. Since the bill is 45 pages long and somewhat complicated, ULCT produced a BRIEF SUMMARY explaining how the bill builds on last year’s HB 259 and SB 136.
